This Is An Emergency: festival frolics go wrong for Pigeon Detectives

Festival News, Music News

Matt Bowman Pigeon Detectives.jpgMatt Bowman, singer from the Pigeon Detectives, was carried off to hospital on Sunday after he injured himself onstage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Maidstone.
Bowman hurt his leg during the band’s energetic set, which was full of scissor kicks and equipment jumps, but carried on through to the end. A press release reports that the injury was ironically sustained during the performance of aptly named single ‘This Is An Emergency’, which was released on Monday. The things some people will do for a bit of publicity…

Awaiting news from Bowman’s doctors, the band hope to reschedule the Irish dates of their upcoming tour (13th May - Dublin, Ambassador Theatre / 14th May - Belfast, Mandela Hall). With mainland shows due to start in Glasgow this Friday, Matt hopes to be back on stage by the weekend.
