The Whip in danger of living up to hype with “Blackout”
I have heard A LOT about The Whip over the past year or so, but get the impression they haven’t really fulfilled expectations for whatever reason. It seems a lot of other, similarly electro-influenced acts have whizzed by The Whip to the mainstream success that was expected of them. That may be about to change. Why? HERE’S WHY.
It’s “Blackout”, from their debut album X Marks Destination. It is good, and so is the video, which shows that The Whip are pleasingly miserable-looking types with the ability to create terrific electro-pop, not unlike their Manc forebears New Order. See it over the page.
