Balado, Perth and Kinross are getting ready for some serious mud action this weekend as the sold out T In The Park returns to the area. For the first time, the event is stretched over three days - though be warned you’ll only be allowed access to the Friday night if you’ve got a weekend camping pass.
So what can you expect? Well, sludge for one - as the nasty weather that has been plaguing the UK over the last few days is set to continue. No worries though - in a year of firsts there’ll be on-site showers and lockers for your stuff.
T is going more than a little green this year. Those who can be arsed can make 10p a pop collecting and returning cups and you can even recycle your tent! Plus there’ll be a Healthy T area, where you can gorge yourself on things like chickpeas and mungbeans (I imagine) and watch demonstrations by top chefs… if you’re not too busy watching the bands that is.
Oh yes right, the bands! T organisers have just announced a few final additions. The Bravery will grace the Radio 1 / NME stage, Ross Copperman will brave the Pet Sounds Arena and the King Tut’s Tent line-up will be boosted by Jamie Scott & The Town.

They join what was already a blinding line-up. If you’ve got a weekend pass, you’ll be able to enjoy Friday night’s array, which includes Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party and Lily Allen. If not, don’t panic, the rest of the weekend’s looking just as tasty. Saturday sees performances from The Killers, Razorlight, My Chemical Romance and my own current favourites Mr Hudson & The Library. On Sunday there’s the likes of Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters, Kasabian before it’s back to work as usual.
On top of the headliners, there’s a plethora of new music in the T Break tent and Futures Stage (more in my post below.) If you don’t fancy that, embrace the Scottish spirit in the Ceilidh tent, or go all kinky as the world’s biggest burlesque club, Club Noir, comes to the festival for the first time.
Recent events will mean tightened security measures, which you can read more about in another post below. But a little bit of patience will go a long way and with all this on offer, the T In The Park crowd are bound to have that in spades. Just don’t forget your brolly!
