Pirate Robot Midget flagrantly glorify stealing of beats

Music News, Up-And-Coming Acts

pirate robot midget Pirate Robot Midget flagrantly glorify stealing of beatsThat Justice album was good, wasn’t it? And Simian Mobile Disco’s was pretty heaveee etc as well, no? But they are now WORTHLESS. Why? Because they are OLD. Listening to them now is literally like listening to a caveman twanging a lute in a plague-ridden cave as dinosaurs provide harmonies. With no amplification. That’s music nowadays, son. It’s all about the now. Yesterday is nowhen. You get the general idea.
Which makes it a jolly good job that Pirate Robot Midget have come along to rip off take inspiration from both acts. It’s also quite nice that they come from Italy and Holland, although I’m unsure as to whether the pirate is Dutch, the robot Italian and the midget some kind of cross-breed, or what. This has not been made clear to me.

It’s My Beat Now is their forthcoming EP, which you’ll be able to get your hands on from September 15th. It features - huh! - “It’s My Beat Now”, which is all about stealing people’s beats and things. It doesn’t sound very kind on paper, but it’s not as bad as jacking someone for their phone, blood. The EP features remixes of “It’s My Beat Now” as well as tracks by the name of “Sacrum” and “So Undead”. How altogether quite threatening.
Head over to Pirate Robot Midget’s MySpace to see whether they can fill that Justice-shaped hole in your life.
