In case you were in any doubt that electro-funk is back, check this out. Snoop Dogg is SINGING. About SEDUCTION. Of the SENSUAL variety. And not even in that intentionally out-of-tune way that’s been big in rap the last few years. Somebody’s been listening to Chromeo (which is only ever a good thing).
Chuck in a vocoder and a video that owes a considerable debt to the late 70s / early 80s, and it’s a surprising but refreshing change from the Doggfather. I reckon it works, although it does take a couple of listens to get your head round it… You really need to see this, so click through!
