Malcom McLaren is a celebrity and is getting out of here

Music News

malc Malcom McLaren is a celebrity and is getting out of hereMalcolm McClaren (pictured left - he’s the old one), who reckons he invented punk or something, is going into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here (UPDATE: er, no he’s not. Sigh) He’s following in the footsteps of John Lydon of course, who was pretty darn entertaining when he chased ostriches around a couple of years back. Malc promises to be “obnoxious”, which in any other line of work would get him the sack, but in reality TV means he could be the only person worth watching.
There’s a very cynical part of my brain which wonders whether this is some canny marketing on the part of the reformed Sex Pistols. Maybe he’s signed a secret contract and has to mention “Never Mind The Bollocks” a certain number of times a day or something.

Now I will present, for no reason, other music “svengalis” I would like to see almost getting eaten by crocodiles for our entertainment:
1. Simon Fuller.
2. Simon Cowell.
3. Louise Walsh.
4. Jonathan King.
5. Pete Waterman.

And if this could all happen at the same time, on the same show, I would be very happy about that.
