I Thought You Were Dead! - Alicia Keys, “No One”

I Thought You Were Dead!

alicia I Thought You Were Dead! Alicia Keys, No OneRemember that soulful songstress who kept falling in and out of love with you? Well, she’s back and she’s still going on about it.
Unfortunately for those who might have cared, Alicia’s new single “No One” is as bland as a packet of Salt ‘n’ Shake crisps without the salt on.
With a multitude of Grammys and various other awards tucked under her designer belt, Alicia recently previewed some of her songs from new album As I Am at a special show in London. Ms Keys told the baying press, “Before, I felt the need to prove myself, being young and being a woman. This time I wanted to be free. I went into the studio with no idea what would happen. That created the best music I’ve written in my whole life so far.” [via sony bmg]
Best music of her life, eh? Interesting. Personally, I can’t listen to “No One” without thinking how much it sounds like Steps’ “One For Sorrow” - although I suppose that probably says more about me than the Keyster.
Have a listen after the jump and see what you think.
