Gumtree spies gold in those there Glastonbury leftovers
If you’re going to Glastonbury this year, Gumtree is keen to remind you that, hey, you don’t have to lose ALL the money on that tent you took with you just because you can’t be arsed lugging it home.
In a recent survey a whopping 46% of folk admitted that, yes, they are planning to leave behind belongings such as tents, wellies, clothing and sleeping bags. Madness! Unless they’re covered in effluence. I wouldn’t blame them for that.
43% of the 1,000 people asked expect to leave stuff behind because they can’t be bothered taking it home, while 32% say it’s because they don’t intend to use the items again. 15% rather cheekily expect festival organisers to recycle their leftover stuff for them. Weirdly, in these credit-crunchy times, 79% admitted that it hadn’t occurred to them to resell their stuff on online.
It would be interesting to see how these results vary in a year’s time, once the apparently impending worldwide financial collapse has had its way with us.
