You can’t dislike Delays really, can you? Oh sure, you can forget they exist for a bit, and you can feel rather indifferent to them at times - but there’s something about them that is fundamentally unhateable.
Likewise their music, which retains a soulful, wind-swept tunefulness even at its most poppy. And they do pop very well in my view. It’s like comfort listening, isn’t it?
The latest single from current album Everything’s The Rush, “Keep It Simple” is reliably Delays-esque, with a video that for some reason features Keith from The Office (aka Ewen MacIntosh) jogging. And then being fed drumsticks and burgers by hot angels. Heavenly indeed.
